A devotional practice to showing up

I am a dreamer. I have lots of ideas. I have idealistic visions of a world of immense beauty that bring me great joy.
I am great at making plans, but that tends to be at about the stage I get blocked.
There is a giant hurdle to overcome, which is the process of bringing my dreams down to Earth.
I have come to the realization that by creating lofty plans with big goals, I tend to lose sight of the daily steps I need to take to get there.
I get lost in the dream world. I get overwhelmed by the paths in my mind that I tend to scatter my attention and end up having very little concrete to show for it.
So at 32, I am learning to walk again. In a new way. Walking towards my dreams, one step at a time.
This idea of small actions daily has relieved me of a lot of overwhelm that comes from the seismic shifts, the phoenix moments that were common in my first 30 years of life.
Now, I approach each moment with reverence and ask:
“What is one small action I can take that will lead me closer to my ideal future”.
I have spent years and years dreaming about my ideal future.
This year, I am taking disciplined action towards making it a reality.
My days are now filled with stacks of small actions that are in devotion to this idealistic future I have spent a great deal of energy cultivating in my mind.
I started a daily devotional practice to connect with my spiritual self on August 1st, and I haven’t missed a day since. It has strengthened my relationship to myself and my trust that I can show up for myself.
This month, I have added another devotional practice for connecting with my creativity.
My current focus is on capturing the beauty that I see in the every day moments, and sharing it.
I have had a tremendous block around sharing. This instagram account https://www.instagram.com/being.radiant was created by me 5 years ago, with the intention of sharing beautiful, inspiring content. And my first post was 7 days ago.
Perfection is not the point. Even being polished is not the point. The point is to express my creativity. To fan the embers of creativity, allowing them to ignite in new and exciting ways.
I am learning to show up for myself day after day, and I am sharing myself more than ever before.
I am excited to watch how this evolves, and what I learn about myself through this process.
I feel very proud of myself, and this is only the beginning
