Grief

One of the great beauties of Life is that it is temporary, and this week I am learning the lesson of fully meeting Grief.
That final goodbye to a loved one is that we all dread.
This one in particular hit me hard. I think it may be because I have intentionally remained present with the Grief, and created space for myself to fully feel into it instead of staying distracted.
It has been a painful ceremony of Curiosity.
Paying attention, Grief is a fully embodied experience. It feels like a storm. There are moments of calm before the next round of thrashing.
In the thrashing, my body heaves. My own inner ocean spills out, tear by tear and I wonder where they all come from.
What an odd response the human body has to immense loss.
During this dance with Grief, I’ve learned that Grief has a magnetic energy.
While I am grieving the loss of a particular person, I find myself brought back to other experiences of loss that require further attention, as if unprocessed grief has been stored in my body and has finally found a vehicle for release.
This time has been an exercise of immense emptying.
I have a new experience of abundance: tears.
They seem to have no limit.
