Integrating into a whole

I’ve always considered who I am at work to be vastly different from who I am outside of work.

The corporate world is not a place for mystery, whimsy, or universal concepts. It asks for red tape, restrictions, and yearly protocol reviews. It asks for fitting in.

Technology has always piqued my interest. Some of its underlying principles can be applied universally, and that has always been a fascinating topic for my brain. It indulges my curiosity.

As I write this, I am having an immediate recognition of where my burnout and existential dread come from. I have been trying to exist in a life by day that does not allow me to express the fullness of my being.

I’ve been trying to contort myself to fit into a schema that limits my potential. For what?

As a person who pays attention to abundance thoughts, I am shocked by my own oversight here. I have been making do with less because I thought it was the only way.

I recognize this pattern in myself. I notice my discomfort and then try to adjust so that I can make it work, instead of realizing that perhaps the discomfort is an invitation to pursue something entirely new.

As I’ve said, I’ve been here before. And I now have the opportunity to do something different.

Finding my wholeness

In the past, I have felt like I needed to hide who I truly was, for fear that sharing my heart would cost me credibility. I’ve tried that approach, and it’s exhausting! It leads me to situations where I am encouraged to keep dimming my own light.

I am done pretending that I’m less than I am. I am done dimming my light. I am done trying to fit into a life that feels cramped and stuffy.

I am an intuitive, curious, cyclical woman with a profound connection to the Earth and the Universe.

I have experienced so much magic and synchronicity in my personal life, and very little in my professional life. I now understand why.

I haven’t allowed my full self to be present in my workdays.

And that is what I am changing now.

I am currently reading The Law of Divine Compensation by Marianne Williamson. I had a dream that told me to read her series, so this is where I start.

Today’s takeaway: I am to practice shifting my perception of my work from a “job” to a “calling,” and to see it as being in service of the Universe.

The approach looks something like this:

  1. Place my need for work in the Universe’s hands, and ask for help keeping my thoughts creative and positive.

  2. Remember the Universe is infinitely abundant. Meet opportunities with faith.

  3. Pray and meditate for guidance, and notice the impulses that arise.

  4. Trust. A plan is unfolding for my highest good.

  5. Make the goal giving and receiving love, in every situation.

I am genuinely following this approach. There are moments when my monkey mind comes in and reminds me of the potential for scarcity, but then I ask for help surrendering those thoughts and finding more positive ones.

I’m excited to see what happens when the woman I am outside of work finally gets to come to work.
